Department of Bengali

The Department of Bengali started functioning in August 1983 with Additional Compulsory Bengali. Initially the Department offered Elective Bengali as a subject for the General course. It expanded its course when Honours in Bengali began to be offered from 1999.The Department has highly qualified and dedicated teachers who are also actively engaged in research activities. Internal examinations are conducted on a regular basis to determine the weaknesses and strengths of the students and guide them accordingly. The close bond shared among the students and teachers and attention to academics is visible in the performance of the students of the Department of Bengali.
